2 tries for No 8 Jordan Pearson, one each for wing Matt King and fullback Rhodri Mayor and 100% kicking record for Liam McGovern.

Stockport completed a 28-0 bonus point victory at home against bottom club De La Salle. The margin could have been a lot greater but for some determined defence by the visitors as they held out for many of the Stockport assaults on their line. Possession statistics were probably about even, with the strong wind and very wet conditions making any sort of handling very difficult but it was Stockport who got the scores, while De La Salle never really threatened the Stockport line. There were 2 tries for No 8 Jordan Pearson, one each for wing Matt King and fullback Rhodri Mayor and 100% kicking record for Liam McGovern.

Stockport were on the scoreboard after only 4 minutes, with a try for Pearson as he controlled the ball well at a 5 metre scrum and the drive took him over for the try. Another score quickly followed 4 minutes later the ball was moved to the right and Mayor came into the line, jinked through the defence to score near the posts, the second conversion made it 14-0. The Stockport scrum was in control in the set pieces but the wind made line out throwing difficult. Dudley Southern at scrum half made an excellent break making 50 metres, the forwards followed up well and the ball went to King who had the easiest of touch downs making it 21-0 after 30 minutes. More pressure on the visitors line was relieved by a couple of penalties conceded by Stockport and the half closed with no further score.

Four minutes into the second period and Stockport had their bonus point try as a well controlled drive from a line out took Pearson over for his second and it was 28-0. Stockport continued to create pressure but drives were held up or the ball went loose. Pearson seemed to have crossed for his third try as he took a tapped penalty pass and went over the line but the referee judged the ball was held up. The game ended with no further scoring.

Next week Stockport travel to Douglas Isle of Man in second place while their opponents are in 4th spot. This will be a tough fixture, with Douglas having only lost once at home this season.
