Stockport travelled to Ilkley on Saturday with the team including several under 20 players, as expected it was a tough encounter. Stockport had several periods of possession but were unable to turn any of them into points and came away having been defeated 70-0 by a home side that had some pace and played a good offloading game. The Stockport tackling was unable to stem the flow of points, which started as early as the first minute as some missed tackles let the home side in for an easy start. Some poor passing and decision making also contributed for the inability to score but once again the spirit was good and the Stockport players never gave up. Matters were not helped as the referee saw fit to give Jordan Pearson a red card after only 30 minutes so Stockport were always going to find defending a challenge.
