Once again Stockport found themselves out gunned in the backs and with the Wirral forwards contributing to a fast, offloading game the Stockport defence was unable to contain the home side. Wirral scored 12 tries, with 8 conversions to win 76-14. The first Stockport score came in the first half, with fly half Scott Redfern intercepting and running from half way to score, he converted his own try. It was not until the last minute of the game when Stockport scored again a try from a tapped penalty by No 8 Jordan Pearson, who forced his way over, Redfern again provided the conversion. As we have come to expect, despite being dominated the Stockport players never gave up and it was a spirited final 5 minutes, spent in the Wirral 22 that provided the opportunity for the Pearson try.
Next week is a home fixture against Wirral kick off at 2.15.
