Stockport continue to suffer from player absences and against a strong Sandal side were unable to contain the visitors fast backs and powerful pack. Sandal were on the attack with an early drive from a line out in the Stockport 22 resulting in a try after 3 minutes. it was the first of 7 first half tries for a 43-0 halftime score. 8 more tries were added in the second half for Sandal to complete a 91-0 rout of the home side.
There was no lack of effort and commitment by the Stockport players and after the first try the home side had a very good spell, being just held up over the line and then turned over right on the Sandal line after the following phase. With Jack Wilson putting in some positive running and Callum Hibbs leading the pack by example there was some hope but a knock on allowed Sandal to pick up and run in from half way to make it 14-0 on 10 minutes. Stockport never really got back into the game after this and with the Sandal Number 11 scoring 6 tries and their 10 on target with most of his conversions the score really did reflect the difference in the quality of the sides, despite the Stockport players never relaxing their efforts.
