Stockport fly the flag for Manchester

Stockport under 12’s returned to Twickenham for the second time in 12 months after winning the the Landrover Cup in successive years. After a traumatic week for the region the team travelled to Twickenham and graced HQ with the boys all wearing I LOVE MCR T shirts as a mark of respect for the victims of the Manchester bomb which was even more poignant as u12’s player Louie Warners mum Debi & sister Isobel were actually caught in the blast in the foyer at the concert but were miraculously unharmed and came with us for the day.

The team met rugby legend and World Cup winner Jason Robinson before the game and did a half time lap of honour in front of 80,000 people where they were met with a standing ovation all around the ground. Team Captain Daniel Robinson received Landrover Most Valuable Player award from Jason Robinson before the game.
