Tom successfully made the final cut to make the full Cheshire U15 County team earlier this year and he will represent Cheshire in 2 fixtures later this month:

Cheshire A V Lancashire A on 21 February
Cheshire A V Yorkshire A on 28 February

Through the County development programme Tom was picked up by Sale Sharks and has been invited into the academy.

Tom will now benefit from weekly training and conditioning sessions at Carrington with Sale Sharks coaches and will represent Sale Sharks in academy festivals later in the year .

Tom only started playing rugby in his first year at senior school. Prior to that he was mainly concentrating on football having stints at the Manchester United development academy and Crewe Alexander academy . He has been ever present for Stockport since joining the club in September 2010.

Toms granddad is Stockport's long serving member and Chief Exec Stewart Bertenshaw and we are sure he is extremely proud as are the club of Toms achievements.
