Davenport 4 Lunch - 19th March

A great turn out and a full clubhouse on Saturday for the Cleckheaton game and our long overdue recognition of the "Davenport 4".

I'll leave others to report on our performance on the pitch, but we had 60 people enjoying a fantastic lunch - more than we have had for some time.

This in turn meant we had a busy touchline for the game plus more than the usual crowd on the balcony.

By all accounts a great day was had by all and a final comment from Bill Backhouse (who represented the families of the 4) as follows:

Many thanks for this and it was a real pleasure to be with you on Saturday. Once again, our sincere thanks for your hospitality and the recognition for the ‘Four’. It was great to meet with friends old and new and even my old team mate from school Roger Hooley. He doesn’t look any the worse for playing inside me all those years ago!
