Hugh OLDHAM
Born 1940
Hugh made his 1st XV debut in 1957 against Southport. His favoured position was at centre. He continued to play throughout the 1960's and he took part in memorable games in the period including the famous 1968 Boxing Day win against Sale FC.
He continued into the 1970's and he beieves that his last 1st XV game was at Kendall.in 1974. He had travelled North to Kendal intending to play for the 3rd XV but some of the 1st XV nver made it and he was drafted into the Mike Fuller Captained 1's.
Hught was only just starting his involvement with the club and since he burn his boots he has held a succesion of roles at the club. He has been President twice, Chairman of Selection, and he currently holds the position of Tresurer.
Hugh has been a part of Davenport's/Stockport's for more than half the time the club has been in existence and he is a fitting figure of the club to become it's first member of our Hall of Fame,
